The ‘Bullock Creek’ kennel was registered in 2017 by Peter O’Neill and Robyn Finlay to introduce quality, imported, high-health English Springer Spaniel bloodlines to the NZ gundog trialing and hunting sports communities.

Claisfearann Gundogs was established over 40 years ago in the UK and has always been about more than just breeding dogs — it’s been a way of life. For decades, our dogs have been worked, trained, and trialled, forming the heart of our family and daily life, not just our kennels.
Our focus today is mainly on English Springer Spaniels, a breed we are deeply passionate about. In earlier years, Labradors and Cocker Spaniels were also very much part of our family and our work, helping shape the experience, knowledge, and love for gundogs that defines who we are today.
We are incredibly proud to have produced five Field Champions, all home-bred and home-trained, raised in a hands-on environment where care, structure, and consistency come first. Every dog is known, handled, and trained as an individual — not just part of a programme.
To protect and improve our working lines, we have carefully introduced UK bloodlines through imported semen, allowing us to combine traditional British working genetics with our own proven lines here at home.
